Shinya Shokudo深夜食堂

Indeed I have moved on to watching Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese Dramas.

I really like what the Japanese have to say about life, the simple and poignant tales that need no exaggeration for how often do you really get the tension and dramatisation of the Korean Soap operas? These short series (season 1 debuted in 2009 and season 2 was aired last year) were both philosophical and nostalgic, no fanfare but peppered with provoking thoughts and sent ripples to an already calm and almost dying heart. Like the fare featured in each episode, it warms one heart especially when you reflect upon your sole existence in this lonely city that you are dwelling in, some licking the hurts from before, some hoping to find a light in darkness. What would that comfort food you will be ordering this late at night?
